Who’s ready to talk dirty? Devious Maids returns
for its second season this Sunday (Lifetime, 10/9c) and The Gag & The Tea has the scoop.
We recently spoke with executive producer Sabrina Wind for the skinny on Season 2, including which former maid has hung up her gloves for good — and who’s about to take a seriously “dark” turn.
CARMEN: BACK IN BLACK | Carmen may be playing house with Alejandro this season, but just because she’s walking the red carpet, that doesn’t mean she won’t also be vacuuming it. “Her future has not been set in stone,” Wind explains. “The show is called Devious Maids, and we will always go back to our roots.”
MARISOL’S BAD ROMANCE | “Marisol has a whole new life,” Wind says. “We ended last season with her drive being fulfilled; she got her son out of jail. This year, she has found true love for the first time [with GCB's Mark Deklin] but with that comes dark stories of its own … and a great new haircut, although [Ana Ortiz] did that on her own.”
BALANCE OF POWELL | Things are about to get weird at Chez Powell. Like, even weirder than normal. “Evelyn and Adrian are newly re-invested in each other this season, but of course, we rip them apart almost instantaneously,” Wind says. “Last season, it felt like Evelyn was chasing Adrian, and this year, we’ll find the imbalance possibly leaning in the other direction.”
ROSIE’S TURN | Season 1 may have ended with Rosie being hauled off by Immigration, but don’t count her out just yet. Not only will she be staying in Los Angeles, but she won’t be staying away from Spence. “In the premiere, we get to see a little more of the moments we hinted at in the finale,” Wind says. “Peri knows, but she doesn’t necessarily let on what she knows. She has also taken some big actions to keep her life in tact.” (Hmm…)
VALENTINA’S TRIANGLE | Though Remy and Valentina will eventually reunite — Wind says he’ll have a “challenge in Africa and may return before the season is over” — the premiere introduces a potential new suitor for Zoila’s daughter: Genevieve’s new pool
We can't wait.
